About · Why this exists
Every business with a phone has the same problem: too many leads, too few hours. We tried every off-the-shelf solution before we built this one. None of them returned a number you could actually trust. So we built one that does.
Five principles. They aren't marketing copy; they're decisions we've already made.
What we believe
Most sales tools sell you inputs — minutes, seats, contact records — and ask you to trust that activity equals outcome. Assay sells you the outcome: a scored conversation and, when warranted, a booked meeting. Volume is in the price; nothing else is metered.
A conversation is high-dimensional. Sales teams are not. We compress every call into a single 0–100 Assay Score with the reasoning attached. Same rubric every time, auditable, decidable in a glance. If you can't score it, you can't systematize it.
We don't pitch Assay as a way to shrink headcount. We pitch it as a way to work the list humans never get to. The ROI math on every page subtracts plan cost from gross recovered revenue. Nothing about "saved SDR salary," ever.
The pipeline is six discrete layers, not a black box with a chatbot inside it. You can read the transcript, see why the score came out where it did, and reproduce the decision plan from the same inputs. If you can't see how it works, you can't trust it in front of a regulator.
HIPAA workflow is on the roadmap without a ship date. We don't process data outside the US. We don't have a public bug bounty. These are choices, not gaps we hope you don't notice. We'd rather lose the sale than promise something we can't hold to.
And here's where we came from.
The origin
The first version was a voice AI workflow built for the DACH recruiting market — outbound screening calls to applicants, structured scoring, automatic routing. It handled first contact end-to-end. It worked. It also showed us exactly where it needed to be better.
We spent the next year on that: tighter scoring across conversation types, the edge cases that break simpler approaches, regulatory differences between markets, integrations that hold up in production. Assay today is what came out of that process — the same core idea with everything unreliable removed.
We're not building "AI for sales." We're building a piece of infrastructure that handles the call so the humans can handle the relationship.
